About Neverest Labs

At Neverest Labs, we like to joke that the dogs are the ones truly in charge — that’s how we got our name! They get their rest, while the people of Neverest always seem to be on the move making sure every dog has exactly what they need.

Neverest Labs is run by me, Desirae, and my husband Mike — though he’ll tell you it’s mostly my project! For me, this isn’t a hobby or a business opportunity — it’s a passion. I’ve always loved animals of every kind, and if you’ve ever visited our home, you’d see that right away. From the moment you pull into the driveway, you’re greeted by animals, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Mike works as a Maintenance Mechanic at the Walmart Distribution Center in Fox Lake. His dedication both at work and at home helps make it possible for me to focus my time and energy on raising and caring for our dogs. I’m a work-from-home mom to our four wonderful kids — Nathan, Zach, Caleb, and my mini-me, Ashlynn — and our whole family shares a deep love for Labradors.

We have been breeding Labradors since the fall of 2001 and quickly fell in love with the breed. We began with American field-style Labs, but I was soon drawn to the English show style that still maintains strong working ability — combining beauty, brains, and versatility. Over the years, we’ve been incredibly blessed to see dogs we’ve bred go on to do amazing work, including roles in police work, search and rescue, guide work, diabetic and medical alert, autism and PTSD service, facility support, and therapy programs — in addition to being outstanding family companions.

Our priority is producing the healthiest Labradors possible while preserving the excellent temperament, intelligence, and adaptable work ethic the breed is known for. We are proud of nearly 25 years of raising smart, trainable, healthy, and loving dogs for families who trust us. One of our greatest joys is seeing longtime clients return — people who grew up with a Neverest Lab and now come back for a puppy of their own as they begin the next chapter with their families.
